I don’t shoot nude very often. There are many photographers photographing nude because it is just nude.

Don’t get me wrong. I do like capturing the nude female body but when you only do this kind of photography some people look at you as a photographer in a different way.

I offer boudoir shooting for woman who have a shoot on their bucket list or as a present from their partner. To expand my portfolio I shoot nude once in a while.

There is one rule and that is never to touch the body of the woman. Because I use a light meter I sometimes get close to the model but I always communicate why it is important to measure the light. Make sure the studio is warm enough. It also helps when a woman (like my wife Nancy who is also a MUA) is present at the shooting. Some want no other people around.

It is not always a good idea when the partner is also present. They often provide a distraction not helping for a smooth photo shoot. However when the model feels more safe I allow the partner to be there.

For this shoot with Kimsy I was going for one pose and one photo but because she loves low key photography I did some more pictures of her and I am happy I did. Here are two photos from our shooting.
