On some forums, people report that focusing accuracy is less accurate. I cannot confirm this. After the update, the camera focused just as fast or even faster.
It turns out that a reset of the camera is the solution for those who claim having problems. Before doing this, you can back up the settings from your camera to the SD card or via Imaging Edge to your smartphone. Then you have to restore it back. So there is no reason at all not to do this or to install an older firmware.
I have been shooting with Sony since 2015 and have never encountered any problem.
